Submit your entries by 4:30 p.m. on March 24 online to be considered. Winners will be announced here and on the Homecoming Twitter account Friday, April 2.
Join the Redbird community for the virtual Town and Gown 5K! This annual Homecoming tradition has gone virtual this spring for Homecoming: Redbirds in Flight taking place April 5-11. The best part about this run? You get to decide how you will complete 3.1 miles. Run the treadmill, jog the neighborhood, or walk laps around the block. You run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself.
Register by noon on March 1 to be guaranteed a shirt. Those not wanting a shirt can register by noon on April 7 to receive the virtual packet.
Saturday, April 10: Units wishing to participate in the virtual parade are asked to submit a photo or ten-second video showcasing their Redbird spirit to be used in the video. Submit your parade entry by March 5, 2021.
Due to current Restore Illinois Phase 4 guidelines, tickets will not be available for purchase to the public. Redbird Athletics will communicate ticket opportunities to season ticket holders, students, and the public on GoRedbirds.com as information is provided and changes occur. Fans can watch the Redbirds take on North Dakota on Marquee Sports Network. The game will also stream on ESPN+ or ESPN3, but network designation has not been determined at this time.
Virtual events prior to the game will be announced as planned in the coming weeks.
A long-running Homecoming tradition is the selection of Homecoming royalty. Faculty and staff can nominate individuals for prince and princess (deadline February 26) through the Homecoming royalty Web page.
