Jason Kuhl ’97

Jason’s career in libraries began in 1994 when he took a part-time job at the Normal Public Library while a student at Illinois State. From that time on, he was in love with public libraries and after a brief stint as a graduate student in art history at Washington University, he returned to them for good.  

After earning a master’s in library and information science from the University of Illinois, he began working for the St. Louis County Library, eventually becoming manager of the system’s largest branch. In 2008, he became the information services manager at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library and served in three positions including five years as executive director. He is now the chief executive officer of the St. Charles City-County Library District, leading an 11-branch system serving over 400,000 people in Missouri’s fastest growing county.
